Each to their own. I found it juvenile and the bit about his wife's personal hygene plain grossed me out a bit

No, I know. I got confused with the fella who plays one of his his pals in it.

No. My mistake. You are correct. His two pals came in to the press office but he wasn't there.

David Earls Character - Brian is quality.
"What worse than finding a maggot in your apple? Seeing your wife get gang banged by 2 Dutch Lorry Drivers in Safeways car park"

Agree with the consensus on Series 3 and with Surface's comments on the supporting characters. The David Earl character is shockingly bad although Tim Key's cameo showed quality imho

Not in the third series he isn't

Seasons 1 and 2 - finding humour in the situation of a bloke understandably distraught at loss of life partner and soul mate. Lots of laughs, lots of tears.

Season 3 - fat bloke with dog wallowing in self-pity. Not many laughs.

Incidentally, I was only invested in his workmates, the nurse and Penelope Wilton's characters. Season three was full of shit about characters I didn't care about and barely knew.

A few little nuggets in this one.

Getting chucked out of laughter therapy for bringing the mood down was beautifully played irony.

Felt that it would have been wrong to tie up loose ends and was right to leave things hanging and have characters in different cycles that's actual life, not the Hollywod version we have been sold. But all could have been done in S2.

Still as CS said watchable given what else was on offer.

Interesting fact - Lenny is played by Tony Way who is a West Ham fan and used to sit a few rows behind me until lock down. Not seen him since we have returned but could have moved seats.

Didn't need a third series, as he hadn't progressed, was painting by numbers and then turned into Brewsters Millions and 50 first dates. Load of one liners were nicked from other shows as well.

Worth a watch, if only because most TV is shit these days

Paul Kaye isn’t in S3 is he? Must have missed him.

The two goons that haunt about with him were there but didn’t notice him.

Why does he think pedestrians can just step out onto a crossing and the vehicle has to jam its brakes on? Bizarre.

Green cross man wouldn’t be happy with that message!

Re: After life - Ricky Gervais
Loved the first two.

Have watched four of the third series and, whilst some funny lines, I have found it a bit under-whelming. If I am being honest it's a bit boring in parts. It doesn't seem to have moved on enough and, being frank, there doesn't seem to be much point to it other than just seeing what they are all doing now.

Having said that, it's a generally light hearted take on tragedy, very well written and is funny so worth watching.

Watched the first 3 episodes of series 3 last night was a bit disappointed but series 1 & 2 was hard to follow.
Thought cnut was a bit over used where as when it was used in 1&2 the timing was superb.

Re: After life - Ricky Gervais.
Watchable. That's about it for me. I don't watch much TV though so that may be a compliment. Too many unrealistic characters and RG seems to just want to push his own beliefs on the viewer.

However, he did seem to let go of that in the last couple of episodes. I watched the last 3 episodes last night because my mate told me the last one is "immense". Some mate.
